Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
1.0 OBJECTIVE
To outline the procedure for cleaning the hose pipes of the Dust Extraction System to ensure effective dust collection, maintain system performance, and comply with GMP standards.
2.0 SCOPE
This SOP applies to all hose pipes used in the dust extraction systems at [Company Name] in the production, packaging, or other manufacturing areas where dust is generated.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY

4.0 MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT REQUIRED

5.0 PROCEDURE
5.1 Pre-Cleaning Preparation

Power Off: Turn off the Dust Extraction System and disconnect any power supply to the equipment to ensure safety.

Wear PPE: Ensure that operators wear the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, face masks, goggles, and gowns.

Remove the Hose: Detach the hose pipe(s) from the dust extraction system, ensuring there is no residual dust or material in the system.
5.2 Dry Cleaning (if applicable)

Initial Inspection: Visually inspect the hose pipe for dust accumulation, blockages, or any visible damage.

Loose Dust Removal: Use compressed air or a vacuum cleaner to blow out any loose dust from the inside of the hose.

Manual Cleaning: Use a soft brush to gently clean the interior of the hose, especially if the dust has settled into hard-to-reach areas.

5.7 Documentation and Labeling

Tagging: Affix a “Cleaned” tag with the operator’s initials, date, and time of cleaning on the hose.
