Standard Operating Procedure for operation and cleaning of Tray Dryer
- Objective: To lay down the standard operating procedure for the operation and cleaning of tray dryers used in pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Scope: This SOP applies to the personnel involved in the operation and cleaning of the tray dryer.
- Responsibility:
- Operator: Responsible for following the SOP
- Supervisor: ensures training is imparted to the operators
- Quality Assurance: Responsible for ensuring the tray dryer is operated according to the SOP and documented.
4. Operation Procedure:
- Before operating the tray dryer ensure that the tray dryer is cleaned as per the cleaning procedure
- Load the materials to be dried into the trays of the tray dryer and ensure the material is loaded evenly to get uniform drying and material should not be overloaded
- Now set the desired drying temperature and time using the control Pannel and start the operation by starting the blower and then the heater
- After completion of drying unload, the material and send the trays for cleaning.
5. Cleaning Procedure:
- Turn off the Power supply to the tray dryer and allow it to cool and wipe the outer surface of the equipment with a cloth dipped in suitable cleaning agent or water
- Take out the trays and send them to the wash area for cleaning, where they are cleaned with a suitable cleaning agent and finally cleaned with purified water
- Use a vacuum cleaner to remove any fine particles from the inside of the dryer.
- Wipe the interior surfaces with a cloth soaked in a suitable cleaning solution
