2. Which instrument is used to measure RPM? – The Techo meter is used to measure the RPM (Revolutions Per Minute) it measures the speed of a rotating disc / it measures the speed of any rotating object.

What is a Deviation? – In the pharmaceutical industry we have established written procedures like Standard operating procedures, Standard testing procedures, and protocols in place, and something that occurs against this is called a deviation. like if the yield of a batch is out of the limits, not following the procedure, etc.

Tell me about the leak test in blister packing – A leak test is performed as a quality check to find the integrity, and seal quality of the blisters formed by using a leak test apparatus, if any leak is observed after performing the test, then we have to check the seal forming temperature or for the presence of any damage on the base and lidding foil.
6. During the leak test which dye is used as an indicator – During the leak test methylene blue dye is used as an indicator for finding any leaks in the blisters
7. Why friability test is required – It is a quality control test performed to know the percent weight loss of tablets due to mechanical action and it is performed to test the strength or durability of tablets during transit, packing, etc.
8. What is calibration – it is the process of comparing the measurements with that of standard reference to ensure accuracy
9. What are the defects in tablet compression: Picking, sticking, capping, lamination, double impression, weight variation, chipping, rough edges, hardness variation, etc.
10. Mention some defects in capsules: the defects during capsule manufacturing include – empty capsules, weight variation, powdery surface, improper locking length, poor polishing, partial locking, etc.
11. What is a BMR: BMR (Batch Manufacturing Record) is a document which contain information of a specific batch of product starting from dispensing to completion of the batch which include dispensing, granulation, blending, compression, coating, inspection, packing and release.
